FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BOTOX ® TREATMENT

  • Botox® (or Botulinum Toxin) is a protein used to treat various medical conditions and is one of the world’s most popular, safe and effective wrinkle treatments. Botox® works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to specific muscle groups, relaxing them and reducing, or even eliminates, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Botox® is often used to treat a range of cosmetic concerns, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, the Nefertiti neck lift, excessive sweating, smokers' lines, down-turned mouth corners, and teeth grinding.

It is essential that a qualified medical professional administers Botox® to ensure proper dosing and placement, preventing complications like asymmetrical results, muscle drooping, frozen expressions and potentially dangerous circumstances.

That's why our practitioner, Sarah, had to go through extensive training before being qualified to administer Botox®.

    See Sarah's training here.

  • Before undergoing Botox® treatment, it's legally required to have an in-person consultation. This allows us to assess your concerns, medical history, and any medications you're taking. Our nurse practitioner Sarah Diamond will determine whether it's safe to proceed with the treatment, and if so, a prescription will be written. Treatment can usually be scheduled within two days following the consultation.

  • On the treatment day, we will take pre-treatment photos for your medical records, and your skin will be cleansed with an antibacterial and antiviral solution.

You will be asked to activate certain facial muscles (e.g., frowning or smiling) to identify the appropriate treatment areas. Sarah, our nurse practitioner, will then administer the Botox®, which typically takes only a few minutes.

  • Following your Botox® treatment, you will receive both verbal and written after-care instructions, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled for 2 to 4 weeks after your procedure.

Our commitment to patient care doesn’t stop there. You can contact us at any time if you have any questions or concerns post-treatment. Contact information will be provided.

Top-ups will only be given if deemed necessary during your follow-up, and the decision will be made by Sarah Diamond.

Botox ® Results

Due to the strict advertising rules on prescription-only medicines, we are unable to show before and after pictures of anti-wrinkle injection results on this website.

The initial effects usually show by day 5 and continue to improve for the next 2 weeks. Botox® usually lasts 3-4 months on average, although you can expect a small amount of movement return at week 8 post treatment. Fine lines that do not disappear in the first 2 weeks will often continue to soften over the coming months. Those that don’t can often be improved with dermal filler. Botox® also helps prevent the development of new lines. Most people need treatment every 4 months or so to get the best long term results.
